Hi Moms,

I’ve been receiving messages recently with questions on the all natural juices I make for my son. I want to share with you a few juice recipes that I made for my boy when we dived into our juicing journey back in January 2016. Try these juice recipes with your little ones and NEVER buy another store brand juice again!

If you missed my blog post on how to transition your child to a juicing lifestyle, go here:

Before you jump into making these delicious juices for your kids, keep this in mind:

  • Decide TODAY that you will start juicing, write it down, and TAKE ACTION!
  • Make one small change at a time
  • Food shop at the beginning of the week for all the vegetables and fruits you need

  • Be patient, follow your plan, and let your kids fall in love with the homemade juices
  • Consistency is key

Recipes for Kid Juicers- BEGINNERS

What do you need? Any type of juicer. I use a Breville juicer but there’s plenty of options out there. Just pick one that has good reviews and it’s within your budget.

Stage #1: For the first two weeks I recommend you start with FRUIT JUICES ONLY in the morning. Use organic fruits from a local supermarket or buy directly from the Farmers Market which has better prices. You can start replacing store brand juices with all natural homemade fruits juices using:

  • Apples
  • Oranges (peel)
  • Lemon (I use coconut sugar to make a lemonade- peel lemons)
  • Pineapple (cut the skin)
  • Grapefruits (peel)
  • Pears

You can make their juice using one fruit at a time or combine them. My son loves apples with oranges and pineapple with lemon.

This picture was taken on the first day we started juicing as a family. As you see, we used only oranges. I couldn’t believe how fresh and delicious the juice was. When was the last time you saw orange juice look that bright, NEVER!

Stage # 2: After two weeks, start adding some vegetables to the juices but not all at once. At this stage, I used vegetables that were either sweet, salty or had no flavor. Your kids won’t event know what is in the juice because the fruits take over when mixed with these vegetables.

  • Carrots
  • Cucumber
  • Celery
  • Zucchini

RecipeMy recipe is based on a 3 cup serving.

  • 2 cucumbers
  • 1 grapefruit (peel)
  • 3 apples
  • 3 oranges (peel)
  • 6 sticks of celery

Stage # 3: At this point your child should be adjusting to juicing daily and should be enjoying all or most of the juices that you’re making. This is the right time to add leafy greens and other types of vegetables. Just don’t tell them yet 🙂

  • Romaine Lettuce
  • Beets
  • Ginger
  • Wheat Grass
  • Spinach
  • Kale
  • Broccoli trunk
  • Squash

RecipeMy recipe is based on a 3 cup serving

  • 1/4 of a full beet (do not put more than that or the beet taste will take over)
  • 2 lemons (peel)
  • 4 oranges (peel)
  • 6 stems of celery
  • 2 apples

Tip: Sometimes kids run away at the thought of eating vegetables. When my son would ask me what was in his drink, I would say “lots of vitamins”. If he really wanted to know what was in his juice, I would only tell him the fruits that were in it until he drank it. It wasn’t until he tried that drink once and liked it that I would reveal the vegetables in the juice. It took a while before I told my son exactly what was in his drink. In the beginning, if he was oblivious to the juice recipe he would drink it without a problem. So technically I never lied, I just didn’t reveal all of the information LOL. This is why is even better to start your kids early!

Thank you for reading my post. I hope you found this information helpful to jump start your juicing journey with your kids. Try these recipes with your child at home and post a picture on Facebook tagging ARK Mommy.
